It’s my surprise last day on the Anthem and the final day to make the time to take in the vastness and majestic wonder of God.  With everything that went down, I am so grateful to have the chance to spend a half day in prayer … Me, God, His Word and His creation.  Wow!

Heading back to Bayonne

In almost 30 years of cruising …. I have never experienced anything like I did last night …. Top winds near 180 mph and seas over 50′.  I was literally bobbing on a 168,000 ton cork with 5,000 of my closest friends.  I’m grateful the captain did his job and the ship held fast ….

There is some significant damage to the ship, but people are safe.  A little worn and ragged, but safe 😊

Nothing Beats Sea Days

I love being on a cruise ship at sea.   Looking out over the ocean and seeing nothing but sea and sky – For me, this is one of the places that I am most aware of God … how big he must be to create all of this and yet he knows how many hairs are on my head!

I am so grateful for such a big God right now with the storms we are in … Nothing like being sent to our cabin for safety reasons at 3p!

Job 11:7 “Do you think you can explain the mystery of God? Do you think you can diagram God Almighty? God is far higher than you can imagine, far deeper than you can comprehend, Stretching farther than earth’s horizons, far wider than the endless ocean.

This ship is incredible

Nothing like getting on a brand new state of the art cruise ship … Introducing Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the seas

Never forget September 11th

never forgetFebruary 5, 2016

Today I  visited the 9/11 Memorial and Museum … Do you remember where you were when the Twin Towers were hit?  I was at work and I will never forget the call I got from Thad.  He worked for a satellite training network and was surrounded by televisions and he saw the footage over and over and over again … I have a friend that lost her mom on a flight into one of the towers and another that lost a cousin at the Pentagon.  I think our world changed that day.  What we all considered safe was no more.  Definitions and descriptions changed.  Al Qaeda became a household term.  People remembered to be proud of being American.  I pray we find our godly heritage again with this next election.

Vacation is finally here

on-vacationFebruary 4, 2016

I am a total planner down to the nitty gritty detail … I plan and prepare and plan some more.  It doesn’t matter if it is a dream trip booked over a year in advance or a last minute get away  …. For me the planning build excitement and at the same time it can make it feel further away than it really is …. and …. that makes day one that much sweeter!  Today my mom and I head out for our annual mother daughter journey – Happy Vacation!

I’m ready to go!

I can’t believe it … It’s not even 11p and my suitcases are packed and I am going to bed!  God still does miracles …. And this one lets me know I am loved …. He is in even these details so I can sleep well tonight!

So much to do

last minuteFebruary 2, 2016

I feel very behind on everything … I know that my feelings are probably lying to me right now and I am diligently searching for a way to stay grounded in the truth!  Yes – I have a ton of stuff to get done before I leave AND on the calendar – there appears to be plenty of time to  get it all done!

Keeping it short to get to the list =)

Show love to everyone

In a month that is dominated by mushy sentiments of love …. I pray that we will all remember the source and kind of love that we get from our Heavenly Father and what he tells us to do with it!  Happy February!

1 Corinthians 13: 3-7 (the Message)

If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

Matthew 22:37-40 (New Living Translation)

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
